Members of American Legion Post 230 of Hawthorne, Fla., visited the Veterans Association at The Atrium, Gainesville, Fla., on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Veterans were advised of volunteer activities available in the community by Rush Hay. Frank Womack spoke on benefits available to veterans and spouses through the Veterans Administration and local VA hospitals. Veterans were shown the different programs The American Legion offers to them, to schools and to all veterans. A short program on shingles was also presented and veterans were urged to consult their doctor about getting the shot for shingles prevention.
