Buffalo (Minn.) Post 270 hosts car shows

Buffalo, MN

During this time of social distancing and staying home, Buffalo American Legion Post 270 in Minnesota decided to take advantage of their large parking lot and host monthly car shows. "The big annual car shows that are normally scheduled throughout the summer in Minnesota were mostly canceled. We decided to get the word out through social media, word of mouth and newspaper ads that we'd step up to the plate and host car shows for these dedicated classic car owners." Our first car show we had just over 100 cars participate. On July 21 we had 88 participants. The parking lot is large enough for social distancing, which draws the crowd. We offer burgers and beer brats on the outdoor grill, an outdoor bar, door prizes and music. We'll host a show on Sept. 15 at 4:30, and our end of season show will be Saturday Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. featuring live music by the Shane Martin Band. We'll also have a "Best Mask" contest. "It really feels great to be able to provide this space for so many car owners. Everyone has a great time! We appreciate all the support from our community and businesses who donated door prizes and gift certificates for the show car participants."
