Past Commander Delbert Parsons of American Legion Post 178 receives prestigious awards

Frisco, TX

During the post’s annual social, Past Commander Delbert Parsons was honored for his exemplary leadership as commander of American Legion Post 178. Delbert was presented with the distinguished award by Eric Simmons, director for Rep. Pat Fallon. Tammy Meinerschagen, Frisco City Councilwoman, attended the post’s social.

Parsons is a charter member of Post 178. He served as adjutant during 2015 to 2021. In 2018 he was presented the annual Jimmy D. Lemley Award for outstanding Texas state adjutant by Department Commander John Hince.

Past Commander Parsons will continue his leadership of Post 178 and its fine tradition of serving veterans, youth, Frisco and surrounding communities as he has done since it was chartered in 2014.

Parsons served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1959-1963. He completed boot camp in San Diego and served in the 5th Marine Division. Parson's wife, Linda, who served as the Auxiliary Unit 178 treasurer, have been married over 60 years and have two daughters whose sons are both veterans.
