High school artists create cards to thank veterans

Hoover, AL

Art students at an area high school have created greeting cards thanking veterans for their service to America.

And Ryan Winslow Post 911 is the recipient of the students’ generosity.

Michelle Branson, art instructor at Shelby County High School, brought the 150 donated cards to Post 911 Adjutant Ginger Branson, who is her mother-in-law.

“These cards are a beautiful representation of each of these students’ kindness,” said Ginger Branson.

About 75 of the cards will go to the Birmingham VA Medical Center for those who are in-patient on Veterans Day.

Another 30 will be presented to the Post 911 members who served in WWII and Korea by members of the post’s Riders.

Any remaining cards will be used for the annual efforts for the Christmas Caravan.
