Today was an awesome day for several reasons. God is so good to us each and every day of our lives!
American Legion Riders Chapter 39 from Valley Head, Ala., (10 members strong) just put together an amazing and inspiring job.
Their first benefit ride was to honor and pay respect to a family of their community, the Nathan Parham family.
Chapter 39 members C.J. Craft, Donna Craft, Bruce and Kelly Forman, Winford Williams, Donnie Brooks, George Roberts, Annette Roberts, Vernon Oliver and Ben Brandon did not let small numbers stop them!

In the pictures, you will see Riders from Trenton Post 106, Valley Head Post 39, Red Knights Alabama Chapter 3, and some who arrived as we were getting ready to head out.
Seventeen motorcycles took part in a ride that started out at Post 39, went to NSM for their first stop, then Stop 2 at Nickajack Dam (what a beautiful sight), over to South Pittsburgh, Stop 3 at Fackler, Ala., and returned to Post 39.
Much appreciation to all the different law enforcement officers who helped make this a safer ride.

When the day was done, the prizes were claimed, the one that speaks more than words were the faces of people who were amazed at the amount this first benefit ride raised. $2,250 is something to look back on and say, "I got to be a part of helping someone and it felt good!"
