On Tuesday September 25, 2012 a Ground Breaking Ceremony was held at North Florida/South Georgia
Veterans Health System for the newest Fisher House in Florida.

A Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes are normally located within walking diatance of the treatment facility or have transportation available.

Since Inception ( 1990): Families served; nearly 160,00, lodging days offered over 4 million; saved families more than $192 million in lodging and transportation cost.
This fisher House is located at Malcom Randall V.A. Hospital at Gainesville Fl. Located in the 4th District of the Department of Florida American Legion.
