Part of our volunteers, because some were already on traffic control duty.

John J. Morris Post 62 (Phoenix) feeding our community

Peoria, AZ

On July 15, our 21 volunteers with Legionnaires, Auxiliary, Sons and Riders took to heart Commander Troiola's message in the July Legion magazine on food insecurity. From 4 am to 9:30 am, they put out 40,000 pounds of fruit from Borderlands' Produce on Wheels to over 250 families from the post and surrounding community. It totals 104,000 fruit servings. What a great day in the neighborhood! We are scheduled to give out 40,000 pounds of fruit and vegetables on July 29. "Veterans Strengthening America."

Clients lined up all around our parking and down the street. They never had to get out of their cars in the 100-plus-degree weather.
