Hello. My name is John Ring, founder of WalkforVets.org. In 2019-2020, we at Buddy Watch Walk walked from Tybee Island to Santa Monica raising awareness of veteran issues.

On Oct. 1, 2023, we will be launching a 4,150-mile walk from Key West, Fla., to Forks, Wash., for PTSD awareness. I am currently 44 and a commander of Post 296 in Mineola, Texas. Almost everyone kicking off this walk with me is a Legionnaire.

We will be staying at American Legion Post 28 in Key West, and the Department of Florida has reached out to support. We would love to help spread the word of our mission and encourage younger people to join the Legion.
