Chartering Troop 780 through American Legion Post 302.

American Legion Post 302 recharters Troop/Pack 780

Fenton, MO

Since 1919, The American Legion has publicly supported the Boy Scouts of America, which dates all the way back to the first national convention. BSA was the first national youth activity to be officially recognized by The American Legion and that support continues today. It is now our turn to continue the Legion's mission in our local communities.

Most recently, both Troop and Pack 780, a longtime staple in the Fenton community, were informed that they would not be rechartered by their current sponsor. After nearly 50 years, a new sponsor needed to be located and this needed to be accomplished as soon as possible. This recharter needed to be as seamless a transition as possible, with uninterrupted service to the Scouts and their families. While there is no shortage of support in the community, many unit sponsorships have been removed from the schools, and the focus has now turned to local civic organizations. Since many community groups already sponsor a BSA program, another organization needed to be found. Hence, American Legion Post 302 stood ready to assist with the sponsorship, thus continuing the mission for future generations. Many of the Post 302 members are still affiliated with the Scouting program and will continue their service by actively supporting the Boy Scouts of America and the families of the 780 community.
