Red, White and Blue BBQ

Canton, GA

American Legion Post 45 is pleased to present this year's Red, White and Blue BBQ: 51 professional competition judges and featured guest chef Brian Duffy from the Food Network will attend and participate in the program. The event is scheduled for Oct. 27-28. You may have seen him on "BBQ Brawl."

This award-winning BBQ pitmaster will provide his talents as a food critic and judge for our mystery food cook-off, pitting amateur and professional BBQ'r on Friday night as part of the Red, White and Blue cornhole competition. He will be back to judge again on Saturday for the main BBQ event and will host a cooking demonstration open to the public as part of the events. Duffy will be judging our fourth category of Friday's mystery cook-off, and a cornhole competition is said to have 60 teams later in the day.

Jim Lindenmayer, post service master, was contacted by the Food Network on behalf of Duffy of their interest in our event, and we are excited to host them.

All proceeds from this charity event will go to funding programs in Cherokee and Pickens counties supporting veteran mental health awareness and suicide prevention. More than 22 veterans a day commit suicide nationally,
