Women veterans donate to Quilts of Valor

Springfield, MO

Thanks to donations by post members, as well as proceeds from a recent pancake breakfast fundraiser, Women Veterans of SW Missouri American Legion Post 1214 was able to provide a hefty boost of support to the local Quilts of Valor (QOV) program. This year, over 20 members attended the Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Guild's QOV reception to help present 202 yards of fabric, 14 rolls of batting and $250 to the Springfield, Mo., group. Locally, the QOV program has been in existence five years and to date has provided nearly 500 quilts to veterans in Southwest Missouri.
