On Oct. 7-9, 2022, Sonny James Post/Unit 165 joined the American Legion Department of Alabama Disaster Relief Team to deliver aid to hurricane-stricken Rotonda, West Florida, Post 113.
Tim Howard (Division 1 Cdr./Post 165 Adjutant) and Zoey Howard (Auxiliary Junior member) drove a combined 1,624 miles to assist Foley Post 99 and Fultondale Post 255 in this mission.

Veterans and their families started receiving this much needed aid before we even left the building.
Two days prior to the trip Post/Unit 165 members collected donations in Hackleburg and Hamilton, and the Post 57 Jacksonville AL made donations filling up Cdr. Howard's truck.
