As part of basic training, we assembled on the firing range to familiarize ourselves with the M-16 automatic rifle. The range officer’s voice bellowed, “I don’t want anyone to FIRE - ” At which time a barrage of automatic weapons was heard. When the noise subsided, the range officer continued, “…until I give the order!”
