It was a grand day for a parade and a party

Montgomery, OH

The weather reports indicated the possibility of rain, but fortunately it held off and the weather turned out to be spectacular for the Montgomery 4th of July Parade. As usual, the Northeast Post 630 color guard led the parade of floats, cars, bikes, walkers and just about anything else that could move along the 1.7-mile route to Montgomery Park. The exchange of flags took place at the halfway point in downtown Montgomery. The crowd was large and voiced their approval with cheers and chants of “thank you for your service" as we marched along. It made one feel proud to be a veteran and be able to participate in the parade. The parade ended at Montgomery Park where the City of Montgomery had set up for their annual Party in the Park festival. Game booths, food and drink booths, live music, pony rides, a Little League baseball game, picnic tables and benches in the shade, and a large grassy area to set up chairs in were all available. It was a grand time for all to enjoy.
