Memorial Day drive

Carpenter-Diesch-White Post 436 - Earlville, IA

We have a small post of 40 members; about 10 actually get involved. A few of us put up all the flags on the medallions at the cemetery earlier in the week, and then the big flagpoles go up with help of a local Scout troop on Saturday before Memorial Day.
We are having members and the community decorate for Memorial Day at their homes, and Legion members are going to drive around town in parade fashion to see all the displays, then have a service at the cemetery.
We did this last year with combat boots on display; not all had those items and the community wanted to participate also, so we changed it up this year.
Members who live out of town are invited to decorate along the cemetery fence.
