100 Miles for Hope is a lifesaver

Montpelier, OH

When our national commander. James W. "Bill" Oxford, issued the challenge on Aug. 3 to go 100 miles in 100 days to support the Veterans & Children Foundation, I was in a bad place. I had allowed my weight to spike at 270, and my blood pressure meds were stuck between VA and the Postal Service. The challenge allowed me to work on my personal health. I am now on my sixth 100 miles and am down 17 pounds. I'm not stopping until Veterans Day. And maybe not even then.
