Legion Post 45 held its first estate sale, with all proceeds benefiting the Cherokee Homeless Veterans program.
For years the Auxiliary has supported the program through a thrift store about 4,000 square feet, selling anything one could think of: tools, yard equipment, clothing, furniture and seasonal items, to name a few.
So when the opportunity arose, they had no hesitation in trying something new. What a task it was pricing, staging, and getting needed directional estate signage and American flags, which were a patriotic eye-catcher.
Viola Ross, first vice president of the Auxiliary, said we must capitalize on opportunities when they arise.
Once again, the Auxiliary and the community rose to make this event successful - the first of many.
