We are searching for veterans who served with my uncle in Vietnam. His name was Herbert Stephen Bechtel and he was killed in action in Vietnam August 25, 1966. He was from Bellefontaine, Ohio, and was 21 when he died. He was in the Army: Company B, 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry, 1st Infantry Division. He was killed in Binh Duong province of South Vietnam at Bong Trang. He was a machine gun operator in his unit and received the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously for his actions in battle.
