27 WWII veterans with their guardians headed to the WWII Museum to record their stories.

 

Soaring Valor

The Gary Sinise Foundation sponsored 27 WWII veterans with a trip to the WWII Museum in New Orleans. The Soaring Valor flight was chartered with American Airlines and flew from Los Angles to New Orleans. The St. Tammany Honor Guard with the Coast Guard, Navy and Marines and the Victory Bells from the WWII Museum were at the airport to greet and thank the veterans. Our Greatest Generation. Sinise stated that these are living libraries. The WWII Museum will record their stories.
The Gary Sinise Foundation Mission Statement says it all: "While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation's defenders, we can always do a little more."


Richard Mecom, commander of American Legion Post 16 in Covington, La., presents Gary Sinise with a Honorary Life Membership to the American Legion Post 16 for all that he and his foundation does for the WWII veterans.
