North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce supports local nonprofit

68 - Leland, NC

At the June 2023 NB Chamber meeting, John E. Jacobs American Legion Post 68 of Leland was presented with the Non-Profit of the Year Award.
REV Mortgage of Leland, a member of the NB Chamber, presented Post 68 a donation for their work within the community. Commander Hacker stated, “The veterans in the Leland area greatly appreciate REV Mortgage of Leland’s generous support.”
The funding will be applied to the post’s efforts to assist local veterans in need and several community projects sponsored by the post, to include youth programs, veteran assistance and community activities.
Post 68 members are very active in our local community: We sponsor local students to participate in Boys State and Girls State and provide scholarships to support the education of our children. We support the North Brunswick High School JROTC. We support/participate in local events, such as Leland’s Founder’s Day, the Rice Festival, and run an annual Oratorical competition that results in area youths being able to participate in regional, state and national Oratorical competition.
Post 68 especially focuses on supporting area veterans in need with a wide range of member-driven programs, all of which build off strong leadership by our service officer Lane Adrian. Programs include everything from building handicapped ramps for disabled veterans to coordinating a very successful annual event that brings VA and all veteran-related program representatives to our area so that veterans can have their needs and issues addressed.
We care about America, our fellow veterans, our families and our children.
