American Legion Post 96 met Dec. 3 for Christmas dinner. Members had adopted
the family of a young disabled veteran for Christmas. This young family has been
struggling since the father returned from war and this year’s Christmas looked bleak.
The American Legion, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans, raised more than
$600, a $1,000 retail gift card, and lots of food and clothing. The tears and gratitude
in the eyes of both parents and the children was heartwarming.
