'A chance to see the world'

Little River, SC

I come from a long line of soldiers. My great-grandfather on my mother's side fought for the Union in the Civil War. My father’s father served in the Army during World War I. Both my parents were in the Army during World War II, and my uncle was in the Army during the Korean War. I served in the Women’s Army Corps from 1968 to 1971. It’s in your blood to serve your country with pride. I have cousins who have served in every conflict up to the current time - Army, Air Force and Marines. The military gives you a chance to see the world and get a college education.
