AUSTIN, Texas – (July 11, 2025) – Zachary Moore of the Universal City Fire Department was named Firefighter of the Year by the American Legion Department of Texas during its annual convention held at the Renaissance Austin Hotel.
The award honors firefighters who have demonstrated exceptional service, community involvement and professional achievement, exceeding the normal expectations of their role.
The American Legion is the largest U.S. veterans organization with nearly 2 million members in more than 12,000 posts across the nation and in foreign countries.
