The Town of Fishkill, N.Y., and the Friends of the Mt. Beacon Eight cordially invites veterans, their families and the general public to attend a ceremony in memory of Commodore Dixie Kiefer and the Mt. Beacon Eight. The Veterans Day ceremony includes the unveiling of a wall plaque in honor and remembrance of the eight Navy veterans who lost their lives in two separate plane crashes on Mt. Beacon, on Sept. 14, 1935, and Nov. 11, 1945.

Friends of the Mt. Beacon Eight just completing the installation of the 1945 crash site historic marker.

Friends of the Mt. Beacon Eight just installed the 1935 crash site historic marker. Standing from left to right is US Navy Veteran and co-founder of the Friends of the Mt.
