The members at Con Miller Post 30 in Moose Creek, Alaska, held a wonderful and respectful ceremony today on Flag Day. Although there is a burn ban in effect in the borough (a very common occurrence this time of the year and always on Flag Day), they respectfully buried the grommets and ash from prior flag-retirement ceremonies in a can specially for this purpose. They hope to build a memorial in this space someday.
It was an incredible way to remember Old Glory on Flag Day.
