Dogs and cats aren't the only animals that can bring comfort to kids young and old at heart. Meet the mini donkeys from the Richland Center (Wisc.) Post 13 family - 'Mr. Nestor' and 'Miss Purdy.' You will find that the donkeys and their crew at most post and Auxiliary functions brings smiles and laughter wherever they go.

Sometimes just giving a donkey a hug will melt away a veteran's loneliness or sorrows.

The donkeys had their opening of the season as part of the Memorial Day Parade in Richland Center and have been visiting five nursing homes/assisted living facilities in the area every Friday since.

They also love to take part in other post events, to include the annual Halloween Trunk or Treating.
