Aggieland Post 1938 cycling team

College Station, TX

Aggieland American Legion Post 1938 has taken the America 250 program to heart. Members of the post Bret Humphrey and Walter Preacher are piling up the miles across the great state of Texas. Bret and Walter, along with other members of the post, have been participating in cycling events over the last several months, to include the MS 150, the Madisonville cycling challenge and others. They wear their American Legion Cycling gear with pride and speak with other cyclists about The American Legion and the programs the Legion sponsors. Walter has dedicated his rides to suicide prevention and those dealing with PTSD; he is a minister and feels it is truly his mission to reach out and help those dealing with these issues. Bret, a Navy veteran, stresses fitness and how it allows him to meet with other veterans and share their stories. They both actively encourage community participation.
