Wm. M. Randolph Post 593 – Converse - Veterans Day events

Members of Post 593 had a busy few days leading up to Veterans Day. They participated in two parades on Nov. 8, one in Converse and one in Universal City. Scout Troop 593 also got in on the action by presenting a bench to the mayor of Converse, placed in front of the Senior Center. On Nov. 11, members placed flags on the main street in Converse, participated in the City of Converse Purple Heart Ceremony, where a new name was added to the Purple Heart Memorial – Sgt. Joseph Daniel Smith, a Converse resident and Purple Heart recipient. Scouts and those in attendance were able to participate in the retiring of U.S. flags. Post 593 Riders then attended the Veterans Day ceremony at Our Lady of the Lake University, followed by the retirement of more U.S. flags by Troop 593 that evening at the post.
