John J. Morris Post 62 Riders adopt Ira Murphy Elementary School

Peoria, AZ

On Dec. 15, the John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) Riders delivered toys and gift cards to their adopted school, Ira Murphy Elementary School. After two days of delivering gifts to families of Luke Air Force Base, the time came for the school delivery. Two vehicles packed to the max and an envelope with $1,000 in gift cards made the day! The principal, retired Air Force Master Sgt. Reginna Lewis, met the group at the front door with her lead team. This is the poorest school in the Peoria school district, which is where our post is located, and everyone in the post donates when the ask is made. Lots of toys, from small toys to drones to a karaoke machine to a bicycle; the list goes on. The volunteer staff at the school was in tears again at the generous outpouring! What an amazing three straight days of the Riders of Post 62 supporting children in the community. Merry Christmas to all, and thanks for Santa Claus and the Grinch for hanging in there through it all.

Everything delivered, including smiles!

Santa Claus shows up at the elementary school, and any students who saw him lit up. Thanks to the Riders team and the school team. Brave principal between Santa and Grinch.
