John J. Morris Post 62 honors Scott Campbell as Veteran of the Month

Peoria, AZ

On July 1, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored Navy veteran Scott Campbell as the July Veteran of the Month. The Post 62 Riders rolled in, the color guard was summoned, then an opening prayer by Chaplain Hauf. Last month's flag was lowered and returned to that veteran's daughter, then a new flag was received from this month's widow and raised. Scott served 10 years in the Navy before being honorably discharged. He served on a guided missile destroyer, then a guided missile frigate. He earned several awards while serving. Once he left the service he met and married his wife Carla, and they had one son. He went to Post Everlasting in 2025. God speed and calm seas ahead, Scott!

Our ALR team always kick off the event rolling in on those motorcycles. They have done this every month for about two years.

Scott's flag will fly over the post for the entire month of July.
