On Saturday, Sept. 5, the American Legion Riders of Post 62 rolled out in force to support the "Ride to End 22" event, hosted by the American Legion Riders of Post 91 in Chandler. True to the event’s tagline, "More Than a Ride…It’s a Mission," the day was dedicated to raising awareness for veteran suicide prevention and the Be the One campaign.

This valiant effort was led by Post 91’s Bradford Toth, "Bandit," who did a fabulous job organizing the event and keeping everyone together throughout the day.

Post 62 showed up strong, contributing 13 riders to the multi-stop poker run. The route carried participants across the Valley, with stops at Post 138 (Mesa), Post 58 (Fountain Hills), the Arizona State Veteran Home (Phoenix) — where riders paused to share lunch with the residents — Post 65 (Phoenix), and a final stop at Elks Lodge 2429 (Chandler).

Beyond the ride itself, the event featured a poker high hand, a 50/50 drawing, a charity raffle, door prizes and hot food for all who took part. Every rider who registered received a special "Be the One" patch, a visible reminder of the mission behind the miles: that a small action can save a life, and that help is always just a call away at 988.

Post 62’s turnout reflected the spirit the ride was built to promote — riders showing up for one another, and for veterans across the community, one stop at a time.
