In a spirited display of community engagement and Halloween fun, the esteemed officers and members of Balaam Jones (Buffalo Soldiers) American Legion Post 510 participated in the much-anticipated “Witch Way to Main Street” event in Leesville. This year's gathering was held on Oct. 31.
A magnet for all things spooky and fun, the event transformed Main Street into a haven for goblins, ghouls and ghosts, inviting families to celebrate Halloween in a unique and safe manner. The event provided a perfect platform for families to engage in safe trick-or-treating, with local merchants, civic organizations and churches contributing to the festive atmosphere.
In true community spirit, Post 510 members actively participated by setting up a booth, handing out candy and socializing with the families, adding to the event's warm and welcoming environment.
Held annually on Main Street in the City of Leesville, located in Vernon Parrish, the event aligns with the long-term goals of Leesville Main Street. This organization, operating under the Main Street Approach guidelines issued by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is dedicated to fostering community bonds and promoting the development of the Main Street area.
This year's “Witch Way to Main Street” was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the unity and strength of our community. The involvement of Post 510 in such events underscores our commitment to community service and engagement.
As we look back on this delightful event, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated and made it a memorable day.
