Post 67 (Rincón, Inc., Puerto Rico) supporting children, youth soccer team

Rincon, Puerto Rico, OT

On June 1, 2025, American Legion Post 67 (Rincón Inc.) took time during their monthly meeting to recognize and donate a much-needed soccer net to the Rincón Surfers "Futbol" Club, to support programs that benefit children and youth to foster their development and well-being. This is one of the four pillars of The American Legion.

The Surfers club is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005 by Juan C Sanchez and Sandra Ríos in Rincón, Puerto Rico. The club's mission is to promote the practice of soccer in our community, promote values and be a sports space for the educational development of children and adolescents.

Their objective is to teach, promote and motivate the sports practice of soccer through pedagogical principles that allow the integration of children and adolescents: play, learn, compete and represent our community of Rincón.

They currently have children ranging from 4 to 15, in both female and male categories. They also have a women's amateur team that represents us at the national level in the pro league of the Puerto Rican Soccer Federation.
In addition to integrating players into sports, the club integrates parents and the community around our municipality by participating in leagues, competitions and cups that allow us to put our skills into practice.

Post 67 wishes the Surfers all the best, knowing they can count on The American Legion to support our leaders of tomorrow.
