Members of the John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) Flag Retirement Squad attended a training service on the new incinerator at Sun Land Mortuary in Sun City, Ariz. Attendees were Past Commander Bob Singer and Tom McClain. Sitting next to McClain are Terry Stauffer, Greg Wisman, Cynthia Towner, Lindsey Troy, Sol Holcomb, Bert Mallin, Mike May and Jim Booth. This motley crew of 10 learned how to retire flags with this new $50k incinerator, with temperatures at 100 degrees in Arizona. They joked that it was “a hot mess,” but enjoyed the training they received. Each week, Post 62 receives hundreds of flags that are eligible for retirement. This service is provided to the whole community.
