On June 2, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored Peoria High School with the Americanism Award. The oldest high school in the city is also a national leader in career and technical education and sports a large JROTC program. It was a great time visiting with the principal, who went to the high school himself; he was a stellar athlete as well as a great student, so he had lots of scholarship offers. He chose to stay home close to family. The A-rated high school has a great rich history. It is an honor to present the award to the school for their work with youth.
