On April 8, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored some shining stars of the desert sky. The Stars of 62 award was created for standouts inside the post. The first ever winners of this award from our Publicity/Community Relations Committee were the bartenders. They are often the first faces anyone sees when walking into the post. How they welcome people and take care of them makes a huge difference on how our members feel about their experience. They work very hard, especially on those busy nights every week. They have a huge responsibility in taking proper care of our members. Today they were honored as shining stars in the desert sky. Smiles abounded; I heard the smiles got bigger after the committee left and they had time amongst themselves. They each received plaques and gift cards to Chili's (so someone else can take care of them for once). If people do not feel welcomed, they may transfer or may not come back, and we all understand the power of word of mouth. Bad comments hurt business, and great comments in the community help the post grow and prosper. Congrats to our bartenders for all they do for Post 62!
