On June 2, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored Mercer's restaurant with the Americanism award as Peoria Business of the Month. With over 20 years of the family serving the community, they are a stalwart there. They have a flag in one window and a Hero Wall inside the restaurant honoring veterans. It is with honor when you recognize a small privately owned business - they are the backbone of the country. Assistant Manager Sabrina Ward was accommodating in letting us interrupt the restaurant to announce the award, and the applause roared through the building. A salute to Mercer's for their patriotism and support of veterans.
