John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored the three main cooks in the kitchen as the Stars of 62. On Friday nights these three cooks can fill as many as 175 meals for fish or steaks in under three hours! The Stars of 62 awards are given monthly to folks inside the post who go above and beyond. When they were brought out and surprised by the award, the standing ovation from well-fed people told the story of how much their work is appreciated. They often are unseen while working back in the kitchen and do not realize how much they are appreciated. Word is when they returned to the kitchen, their smiles were beaming realizing how much they are appreciated. Great meals make for happy customers, and that is why in the heat of the summer they are still cranking out over 100 meals every Friday night. Thank you to our wonderful cooks!
