Last Sunday (May 25, 2025) our post commemorated our fallen brothers- and sisters-in-arms with a very special event that involved also a donation by the city mayor: a statue representing our veterans as a tribute of their valor and sacrifice.
The statue, a 15-feet-tall brass one, shows a veteran praying to God before going to battle. For us, that action represents our faith in a living God that protect us on and off the battlefield.
"Facing the possibility of death takes courage, but asking God for protection and forgiveness takes even more valor and courage", says post commander Carlos Cordova, Army sergeant (ret.) from active duty from 2nd Infantry Division, 702nd M.S.B. Camp Casey, South Korea.
Mayor Bernardo Marquez Garcia donated that monument to our post with the promise that we are going to take care of it and be the official custodians of that city landmark, he said.
