John J. Morris Post 62 honors Navy veteran David Neuenschwander as Veteran of the Month

Peoria, AZ

On Jan. 1, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored Navy veteran David Neuenschwander as Veteran of the Month. He served during World War II and in the Korean War. He even cross-trained and went into submarine duty. Later in life he was in a car accident and paralyzed. That had no effect on slowing him down in life, becoming active in handicapped sports and disabled veterans organizations. An avid bowler and family man, he kept going before retiring at 63. His family was moved to be a part of the ceremony. He joined Post Everlasting in 2014.

A lot of Riders showed up to kick off the new year to support the Veteran of the Month.

Post Commander Bob Singer read the story of David's life for all to hear.

The flag will fly over the post for the month of January in respect to the Veteran of the Month.
