Never a doubt! Since grade school I knew it. For me, it was a calling!

In 1971, I was in third grade, and my head football coach was a Marine, I had been used to playing for other coaches who I always thought were sissies. But not Mr. Wortham. Sometimes I thought he was going to kill us. He used to teach us HEED - hustle, effort, execution and desire. With him as our coach for two years, we went 13-0-1. He worked the dog s**t out of us. Built like a plug, forearms bigger than my legs, spoke very direct and to the point. I loved it. That was it for me. I enlisted when I turned 18 in my senior year.
