Members of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 2 of Bristol responded to a call for help from the Connecticut National Guard for donations to help fill backpacks for their Back to School Bash.
Members of Unit 2 were there to assist the kids. Items were collected and drove to the Hartford Armory, where they were packed into backpacks to be given to students.
On hand were Julie Fahy, Darlene Coffey, Melissa Couture and Sue Rechenberg. Scott Mclaughlin of the National Guard helped load the supplies to be transported to the State Armory.
Unit 2 has been assisting with projects like this for many years now, lending a hand whenever they can and helping to make a difference where they can.
