John J. Morris Post 62 has all four families show up to support local elementary school

John J. Morris Post 62 - Peoria, AZ

On Sept. 15, John J. Morris Post 62 showed up at Ira Murphy Elementary School to deliver a whole load of school supplies and clothing. The lowest-income school in our Peoria, Ariz., school district works wonders with what they have. Of course they do - the principal is a retired USAF master sergeant. All four families - Legion, Auxiliary, SAL and Riders - were part of the collecting and delivering. The school will be on the list for the Riders toy delivery list for Christmas; it always does a whole stack of letters to the troops overseas at Christmas in return. Post 62 is always doing outreach into our community.

Some of the overflow of donations (more were off to the other side of the table).

All four families of the post were in attendance to support the event. Who do you have coordinate the event? A schoolteacher who is on the Auxiliary board!
