Theodore Campbell Post 16 Patriot Day, National Day of Service and Remembrance 2025

Conway , AR

On Sept. 11. 2025. members of Arkansas American Legion Post 16 hosted their 4th Annual Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance at Veterans Plaza at Pompe Park in Conway, Ark.
The program commenced at 0800. The post would like to thank the following speakers for making the program a huge success:
Mayor Bart Castleberry - He shared stories from his experience as the Conway fire chief on 9/11/2001.
John Abbott, Master of Ceremony - He gave the opening and closing prayers as well.
Post Commander Hughie Craig – He sounded taps and shared a story about how LTC. Brian Birdwell survived the hit on the Pentagon from the book “Refined by Fire.”
Jeff Pitchfort, representative of Congressman French Hill’s office - He spoke briefly and read aloud a letter written by Hill.
Post 16 member Ray Briggler - He spoke briefly about being in attendance at a conference in Montana with emergency management personnel, civil defense and FEMA on 9/11.
The post would also like to thank the men and women of the UCA Color Guard, and Rent-A-Center for the use of its sound equipment.
