American Legion Post 23 supports local veterans this holiday season

Keyport, NJ — Members of American Legion Post 23 in Keyport continued their tradition of service by supporting local veterans and the community during the holiday season. The post recently donated 25 boxes of food and $1,000 in gift cards to help stock the Earle Naval Weapons Station (NWS) food pantry, ensuring that veterans and military families in need have access to essential supplies.

In addition to supporting the food pantry, Post 23 members conducted buddy checks by visiting veterans living in assisted living facilities throughout the area. These visits provided companionship, holiday cheer, and an opportunity to ensure fellow veterans were doing well during the winter months.

As part of their Christmas outreach, Legionnaires also distributed winter jackets to veterans in need, helping them stay warm during the colder season. The effort reflects the post’s ongoing commitment to “Veterans Helping Veterans” and strengthening the bond within the military community.

American Legion Post 23 remains dedicated to honoring service, supporting veterans, and giving back to Keyport and the surrounding communities year-round.
