On May 7, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) presented more supp0rt to =Ira H. Hayes Post 84 in Sacaton, Ariz., with donations from the SAL and Auxiliary plus a private donation. The Walk of Honor they are going to build honors 24 KIA from the Gila River Reservation from World War II forward. Both families from Post 62 donated $1,000 each plus a personal donation of $50. Both the SAL and Auxiliary stated it is an honor to support their Walk of Fame. Larry Tank, 2nd Vice Commander of 62, presented the money to Commander Bill Dixon of 84. In an almost-capacity meeting the applause was thunderous. We also learned that 84 quarterly goes to the Japanese Internment Monument to do ongoing maintenance to keep it pristine. Every time we go to 84 we learn more about everything this smaller post still does for the community and salute them on their dedication.
