On May 30-31, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) hosted National Chairman of the American Legion Riders David Heredia Jr. and his lovely wife. He came to visit on Saturday and was so impressed he came back for another visit on Sunday before going to the airport. Especially on Sunday, a huge crowd showed up from across the state for the Capture the Flag event while the Post 62 Riders also hosted bingo in the social quarters. On Friday, May 29, Post 62 Riders were part of the escort for the chairman. Heredia is an excellent speaker and gave great speeches and took questions both days. It was such an honor to meet him and have the time to visit with him. A true American hero continuing to work with The American Legion at the highest level. We wish them safe travels as they go around the country visiting different departments. Thank you, sir, for visiting Post 62.
