The attached photos are of a veteran who is still very active on the golf course and considered the Searcy ace in the art of putting after the team has gotten the ball on the green.

The Edgerton American Legion on Nov. 1 honored Harold Searcy by naming their hall after him. This was done when honoring the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. Harold is a 102-year-old World War II veteran from Dearborn, Mo., who flew Corsairs off and on Navy aircraft carriers. Harold was a junior at Dearborn High School on the infamous day that brought the United States into World War II. He had spent the night with friends when he heard of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and wondered where the heck Pearl Harbor was.

Harold misses his wife, Beverly, and an older son, Pat. Living is a daughter, Jody, and a son, Terry. They are members of Dearborn Christian Church. Harold is still active and recently had Terry arrange a golf outing for them. They played in the first westside golf tournament to support Mo. American Legion youth baseball, also known as the Frank Flesher Heritage Museum Memorial.
