On Aug. 4, members of Unit 62 delivered a lot of supplies to Ira Murphy School, a Title 1 school. Items included plastic drawers and cleaning supplies with other items. The post has been collecting items during July. Thanks to our Auxiliary for handling the delivery. It is the poorest school in the Peoria School District, but they have retired USAF Master Sgt. Reginna Lewis as their principal. Multiple families from the post have adopted the elementary school to provide them support all school year long. It is important for The American Legion to be visible in the community, and supporting education is always a priority.
