Army–Navy Game Day feels like home at Cherry Valley Post 443

Cherry Valley, MA

On Dec. 13, 2025, Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443 in Cherry Valley, Mass., opened its doors to the public for an Army–Navy Game watch party, and it turned into one of those days that reminds you why the Legion feels like home. About 40 veterans, members and community guests showed up, and the post was full, loud and full of energy from start to finish.

Army and Navy supporters were out in full force, wearing team colors, service gear and fanwear. There were flags around the room, friendly trash talk flying and lots of laughs. One of the highlights was Bill Senior making good on a bet with fellow Legionnaire Joe Richardson by wearing Navy gear after Army’s loss last year, which definitely got some attention and laughs.

The potluck table stayed busy all afternoon. People brought chili, cakes and other favorites, and wings and fries were being made throughout the event. Someone even brought a classic military dish, SOS, which brought back a lot of memories and did not last long.

Navy pulled off a close 17–16 comeback win in the 126th Army–Navy Game, and as soon as the game ended new bets were already being made for next year. No matter who people were rooting for, the best part of the day was being together.

That is really what The American Legion is about: Showing up, sharing a table and enjoying each other’s company. Cherry Valley Post 443 was proud to host the watch party as part of The American Legion’s sponsorship of the Army–Navy Game presented by USAA and to bring veterans, members and the community together for a great day.
